In the town of Daba, Egypt, on the shores
of the Mediterranean Sea, the construction of four VVER-1200 nuclear power
units is accelerating, marking an important step in optimizing the
country's energy structure. Since the first unit started the main project in
July 2022, and until January 2024, when the four units will be fully under
construction, this nuclear power plant with a total installed capacity of 4.8
GW is steadily advancing, to realize Egypt's energy
self-sufficiency and green transformation.
As the first nuclear power plant in Egypt,
the Daba nuclear power project is located in a coastal area with frequent sea
breezes and intensive construction, which puts high demands on the construction
equipment. ZOOMLION ZCC32000 super-large crawler cranes, as the main equipment,
undertook several key equipment module lifting tasks, and won high praise
from the construction side for their excellent performance and reliability.
With a maximum lifting capacity of 2,000
tons and a maximum lifting moment of 32,000 t-m, the ZCC32000 is capable of
lifting 1,000 tons. The equipment adopts modularized ultra-wide double jib
structure, which improves the overturning resistance by 30%, and still operates
stably under strong wind conditions, completing several tower
lifting tasks with weights of more than 400 tons and lifting heights of more
than 70 meters.
In addition, the equipment is equipped with
ZOOMLION's self-developed six-row roller bearing structure slewing bearing,
which is at the international leading level in terms of vertical load and
anti-tilting ability; the double crawler intelligent cooperative control system
realizes multi-mode flexible walking, and it can still be operated freely in
the narrow area of the nuclear island, reducing the occupied space by 40%,
which greatly improves the adaptability of the construction site and the
operation efficiency.
For the special environment of Daba nuclear
power plant, such as coastal sand, high salt and high humidity, ZCC32000
supports flexible switching of single/twin engines in the power system, taking
into account the fuel economy and high load conditions, and the overall fuel
consumption is reduced by more than 30%, which meets the requirements of
environmental protection and high efficiency in construction.
This equipment not only serves the Daba
nuclear power plant, but is also widely used in many major projects worldwide, such as nuclear power, petrochemical, natural gas, oilfield and major
infrastructure projects. In recent years, ZOOMLION has continued to break
through the technical barriers of ultra-large tonnage cranes, and the 4,000-ton
all-terrain crane that will come off the production line in 2023 has once again
set a new global record and continues to lead the industry in technological
upgrading.
