1. Choose suitable fuel and oil for severe cold weather
The low temperature in winter makes the fluidity of diesel oil deteriorate, the viscosity increases, and it is difficult to spray, resulting in poor atomization. Therefore, the diesel model should be selected according to the temperature that is 7-10°C lower than the local minimum temperature of the current season.
2. Correct use of antifreeze
In severe cold weather, antifreeze with a lower freezing point should be selected, and the antifreeze with the corresponding label should be selected according to the lowest temperature in the location. If necessary, you can drain the coolant after work every day to prevent the coolant from freezing, causing the engine to fail to start and damaging related parts. However, it should be noted that before turning off the engine, run it at idle speed. When the cooling water temperature drops below 60°C and the water is not hot to your hands, turn off the engine and drain the water. Use a bucket to collect the discharged water and put it in the cab. Add more water the next day. it is also fine.
3. What to do if it is difficult to start?
Diesel engines often have difficulty starting in severe cold temperatures. Below, I will list a few reasons and solutions for diesel engine difficulty starting.
The first is that the battery power is insufficient. The battery power will be seriously reduced in a low temperature environment, and the power is insufficient to drive the starter motor, resulting in the inability to start. Therefore, it is particularly important to protect the battery in severe cold environments. You can remove the battery after get off work and store it in a dry place with a suitable temperature to keep the battery with sufficient power.
